Potential WFSA Spurdog Boat Record 27th April, 2008

Whilst fishing aboard My Way on Sunday 27th April, Holyhead angler Paul Whittle landed a Spurdog that weighed in at 19lb 13oz. The current WFSA record stands at 19lb 2oz, also caught aboard My Way last year. Please note that these fish were caught and then released. As the governing body for angling...

Conwy Estuary has to be one of the best marks for flatties in North Wales. Chances are there going to be plenty of peelers around the Estuary this weekend.

Ragworm will last for days if not weeks but it all depends on how you sort them out after digging. Wash the worms after digging, then place separately about 15 worms onto a few sheets of newspaper and do the same again and place them in a cool place. I use a cardboard box for storing the layers of w...

MJB - Judging by your tactics I reckon you target Sea Trout. If so what's your best fish you've seen as I've been told they grow in excess of 20 pound.

Interesting article! The Russian's have a fleet of factory ships fishing the rich North Atlantic grounds such as the Flemmish Cap, Grand Banks and excursions into Icelandic waters . These vessel have international fishing observers onboard but this does not make a blind bit a difference. A friend wo...

You're right there Rabbi. Yungteddy, I have a Conoflex Nemesis Diablo Plus snapped half way up the tip, you're welcome to the rod. You could write to Conoflex and explain it snapped when casting, you never know they may send you a new tip section. If you have a budget let us know and I will make som...

Us anglers fish remote places and it normally involves a hike and a climb. If you have fished of the rocks you would know that surging waves are the main threat, you hear them before seeing them. Safety comes first when fishing at night.

Anyone caught Bass Plugging at night?

Is it as daft as what it sounds? I have caught Bass on live Sandeel at night so why should they not fall for plugs? Something deep down tells me that plugging at night could produce fish.

Yes, Macky Rock is producing. Don't bother fishing Macky Rock unless conditions are good. Macky Rock also produces good Ray's and Flatties this time of year. Also caught a 3 lb Lobster there last November. Let us know where about on Anglesey you're going and I will give you more info.

Re: LOST FISHERMAN

A lifejacket is not a fashion accessory, when afloat wear one at all times. Last year the Commodore of the local Sailing Club fell overboard and drowned within minutes in view of his friends and family. The coroners verdict was that a life-jacket would have saved his life. Throwing caution to the wi...
