The Conwy Estuary is a good plaice to go. Put your beachcaster out for mixed species and try spinning or fishing light for Bass. Loads of crab in the estuary, so look for some peelers when fishing. I would take a pack of Rag or Blow lug for the flatties. I am led to believe that Plaice prefer gravel...

Plumbers, sparky's and roofers are your best bet. I believe that scrap lead has come down in value. You will find that a lot of tradesmen will stockpile lead before selling it for scrap. Lobster fishermen also stockpile lead weights for scrap.

I feel sea-sick when I'm looking down at the deck sorting the tackle out. When feeling queezy I look at the horizon and try to avoid getting a whiff or sight of someone else's puke.

Lube it with olive oil and twist in opposite directions. Leave it in the sun to warm up, this may help and won't cause any damage.

You will have to do some home work and ask the locals where the Sandeels are. A good tip is to look for what they call sticks. Sticks are the indentation left in the sand when the Eels bury themselves.

It was the same last year. A mate of mine who fishes the Straits told me the Straits were bubbling with Herring for most of last Winter. He had been catching Bass in the Winter on Herring. Theory is that if the Bass don't have to move off-shore to Winter because the food is inshore, then they will g...

All depends on what your after. Macky fillet for Tope, Ray Huss. Macky strips for Whiting and Pollack. Macky flapper Conger, Tope. A good tip if using fillets, is to present the fillet on the hook from head to tail . This is because if you run a fillet under the tap holding it by the tail then the f...

Llandwyn Island is between Maltraeth and Abermenai Point. The church in the sea is called St. Cwyfan's and is between Aberffraw and Ty Croes. Never fished it but I'v been there, it is rough ground with sandy patches. The productive Ty Croes rock ledges is basically the headland to the right of the c...

To be honest I have not heard of a Codling over 4lb being caught in the past 5 years on Anglesey. My tip would be don't waste your time going for the Cod. Plenty of Dogs, Whiting, Pout and Pollack within 40 yards. Remember you will find Bass in the shallows looking for Crab rain or shine.

Tried plugging for the first time about 5 year ago and nailed two 4lb Sea-Trout on Valley Cob in the rush at low water. I would recommend buying both a sinking and floating 2 1/2inch plug, and a couple of Dexter Wedges.

There's plenty of Bass around in Spring and peeler crab is the killer bait. Keep the rigs simple and the tackle light and fish around the rocks as the tides coming in and never think that your casting too far. If the weathers been nice leading up to your trip then there should be peeler crab/soft cr...
