That's not "back casting", that's a pendulum cast. Mind you if it will take that compression, it's OK. Afraid you've got it very wrong there Eccles- that is a back cast demonstrated by Dean Bass- here he is again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUkMvtXWUE8 This is a pendulum cast: http://www.youtube...

Go for the SK4 mate- I've heard a few people having breakages on the SK3 but i'm sure the guys at sonik would have sorted any manufacturing problem if there was one. However, I've had a go of the SK 4 and its a great rod- powerful and will cope with most conditions here's a link to a very good caste...

As if by magic- 19lb 13 oz bass caught at Portsmouth last night. Even better it was caught using a shakey rod & reel combo thus proving fish dont prefer zziplex rods

The name comes from fishing mates jokes, as my Surname is Matchman! personally I don't like fishing matches has i have found bags of whiting dumped after weighings, fish should only be killed for food not match points then dumped. Hatter did you say you asked anglers on King George Dock?? LOL :D :D...

It's almost as big a claim to say "all local match anglers have been asked"- which one's? and who's to say they would know anyway- unless it was caught in a match which I'm guessing it wasn't. the lad said he caught it - he's only kidding himself if he didn't- i dont care one way or the other but th...

It's always difficult to see bites when the sea's choppy- i havent had any problem with bite detection from my supermatch- i'v e tried the ccc and it seemed like a nice rod as well- any rod will bounce around to some extent if the weather is foul but you could try setting up your rod so the tip poin...

which model of tip tornadoes were you using? i've used the sport and supermatch - cant say either had tips that bounced round - if you get heavy weed on the line any tip will start moving and a stiff tip wont necessarily improve things. You also need to think about how you have your rod set up on th...

Hi Eccles, Daz and Ian, thank you for your advice. Unfortunately there has been a disaster in our house - our wc has broken - so the question of purchasing a new reel will have to be put on the back burner, at least until a new suite is installed. Sadly my wife has always had strange priorities! Bu...

As Westy says plenty of free parking especially in winter when the place is quiet. If push comes to shove there's a big car park next to Walton train station and its a short walk down the hill but in winter time you should get parked closer to the pier easily
