A few questions:

What kind of rig are you using- e.g. loop rig or a clipped rig with all hooks above the lead.

Are you using cascade swivels?

What kind of release link are you using- e.g. Imp, breakaway impact lead or impact shield?

Just a thought but having fished Dover breakwater you might want to change the number of rods/hooks- the tide can and often does run like a steam train and can run in different directions it can be a real struggle to hold bottom so could be a nightmare with two rods each- though it is worth dropping...

I've never heard of this reel so can't comment on it- however the fact that hardly anyone has heard of it would steer me away from it. There are plenty of older ABU 6500 CT's available second hand and to be honest there's really nothing wrong with the new ones either. Stick to tried and tested reels...

1. Can't tell you what is the best line but I personally find the best line to be 12lb Daiwa Sensor - low diameter, strong and casts very well. 2.
