Re: It's been a while!

Just a quick check in. Not seen anyone about down at the Tilda factory for a while. How about Tilbury, any good?

Re: It's been a while!

Anyone been out recently!

It would be nice to find a spot that's not been exploited by 'magnet fishing', 'metal detectors', cyclists and people 'dogging'? =))

It's been a while!

..... since I was last on here. Just finalised my second divorce! :) I've been walking the dog along by the Tilda factory for a few months. Been noticing a lot more guys down there during the day. I even saw a guy fishing at the lowest tide I'd ever seen last week. Not seen anyone catch anything tho...

Always catch mine with lug. The important bit is to not react with to the first little trembly bites, hang on for a few minutes until you get a definite tug or two which is when Mr Sole has got himself hooked. Then just reel in. Use size 2 long shank Aberdeens by the way on short snoods and don't k...

Those pesky Suffolk Sole?

It's been a few years but I'm hoping to be off in the next few weeks to have a crack at Sole. Just waiting for a warm evening and reasonable water. What are the trendy rigs/baits to use these days? Can anyone recommend an online bait supplier?

Thanks, Mike

I know that area very well and I dont think there is access to the water unless that market is on. The area is very secure, lots of CCTV and patrols as there is a lot of industrial/warehouse/storage areas. But the article was very specific about "dagenham dock" unless there is more than one! :-O

Dagenham dock market

I happened to pick up a local paper in Basildon and noticed that they had quite a good fishing mark review page for both coarse and sea fishing. One of the marks mentioned was "dagenham market". I know the area quite well and have been to the market but where is the actual fishing mark. Can you get ...

Where's hot in suffolk

Might be able to get away end of the week to drown some lug worm. Does anyone know if any of the suffolk beaches are fishing well at the moment

Cheers, Mike

Anyone out over Christmas

On my own this Christmas as the ex has the kids. I was thinking of nipping out for a few hours with the rods. Obviously no chance of any bait and nothing frozen so any ideas what to use; tin of sardines maybe?

Re: North Fambridge

Nipped out today for a quick fish at North Fambridge 1 hr before high tide. Lovely afternoon, a couple of nibbles didnt amount to anything.. But the strangest thing was a guy walking along the river in a bathrobe and what looked like a cosmetic bag, bare legs, bare footed.. Quite a well spoken chap...

Century rods

Just thought I would mention the outstanding efforts of Simon at Century composites Ltd in helping my replace the rod tip on my old but good longEzee match rod. Top work, Top company! Prompt response to Emails late in the day. Shame all companies cant work like that!
