We tend to blame seals for the lack of fish, but a guy I used to work with, who was a scuba diver, reckoned that fish ignore seals unless they are being chased. So a seal swimming on the surface wouldn't bother them - or so he said.

Nice to put a face to a name today Keith :) I fished round the corner past the coastguard station close to where I used to fish with a mate. Can't park at the Cadet base, the van won't go under the height barrier. Could park at the boating pond though? not too far to walk.

Cafes been closed both times I've passed recently, thought it was shut down?

How safe if the flyde coast when fishing a low water marks??, us both not knowing anything about sea fishing don't want to run into trouble. Maryport Bay? it used to be reckoned good for rays around that area. We're off to Shetland this year, not a fishing holiday, but I'll be taking a couple of rods - just in case :)

You fit the conversion bar first Keith, then hacksaw the top rail off. Russ at Blakdog does a tutorial for the kits he sells.
