not been out for far to long... going to fish hebburn or s/shields, prob on thurs night. anyone know how that end of the tyne and/or the beaches are fishing at the moment?

welcome aboard mate.

i've not fished the groyne, though i've been told it can be productive, but its very rough ground, especiay at lower water.

the pier has some great shots, both rough and sandy marks.

the walkways are good too.

can anyone recomend any decent rock marks between the tyne and wear to try some plugging/spinning.

another thought i've now had is knives... a cheep table knife of about 30g, twisted, with a swivel either end would prob make some great movement and vibrations by spinning through the water....

time to start experimenting methinks.....

Just tried out the new tackle shop in south shields. lots of low end quatity gear... Fladen, Mitchel, Storm etc. though he can get other stuff if required....

he tells me all his worm is wild dug and hes got a great selection of great frozen bait in too.

well worth a visit.

I'm thinking about a late start, night session starting on saturday night, finnishing with a bit makerel spinning as the light comes up on sunday morning. Gonna do this on south shield pier. this being my second summer as a sea angler, i want to 'add another string to my bow' so to speak. i want to have a bash at the smut up my way. thanks lads.

that cod?? the lad in the tackle shop showed me a pic of the lad that caught it, holding the catch. not sure if it was 15lb but it was a fair size. apparently caught on a hand line.....
