as far as i know they are fishing well with Smoothound and pollock around. Squid baits are doing well, beware the strong tides from fort victoria though, i would go of Yarmouth Pier instead just around from fort victoria.

Hi, i fully agree that a video section would be a great help to novice anglers and with enough googling you can find about anything you need, but would also be good to have a centralised repository for these videos. there are several reasons why i think this would not be possible on some forums ( my...

there are a lot of smoothound coming in at the minute from west cowes, yarmouth pier, ryde pier. also some good bass showing around the rockier marks. sandown is good for a dabble from the pier, but mainly smaller species. ventnor is producing some bass. whale chine and furher along will produce som...

yeah it definetly feels a lot more sporting if a bit harder, if you have any information on what kind of lures to use etc it would be greatly appreciated. note that all my fishing is done from the shore.

Using Lures for Bass

Hi all, i have been keen to use lures and spinners to catch bass this year as usually i would use bait. been fishing known bass marks but to no avail, has anyone else tried using lures around the island with much success? (apart from yarmouth pier) might give up and go back to bait instead. cheers i...

there are several good spots to bring the kids along to, yarmouth pier is chnild friendly, fort victoria is good as easy parking and a large grassed area for the kids to play on if they start to loose interest, also Ryde pier due to the poor maintenance is shut to all vehicles which leaves the end o...
