Sad to see the site so quiet

I am as guilty as others of not fishing much this year - in fact my two sessions of the last six months have been lake fishing in /brazil so nothing to post but it is very sad to see so little activity on this site. I use to view it every day but the last 6 months have been so quiet. Are people just...

We fished for about 2 hours next to a small waterfall in 30 degree heat - we caught small catfish ...

Got to agree - as a budget rod Fladen are not bad - had a Fladen reel for about a nano second before it broke - well 4 casts! Never again - some things just are not worth it and thank god I carry spare reels when I fish.

Fantastic nights fishing by the sound of it - the codling making it well worth the trip. Might have to pay Hythe a visit soon.

Each to their own... I find it a curiousity and inventive but not my cup of tea. Like others whacking out a lead and then sitting back waiting for the tip of my rod to bend over is what its all about. I rarely take a fish home (the odd bass is about the only time I do) as I prefer catch and release....

I've seen someone using a balloon to get out - seemed a lot of hard work - i just enjoy trying (often without success) to whack it out and keeping my fingers crossed

Dont think there is a simple answer to this one - more a combination of answers. Artificial reefs for one plus a ban on the big factory trawlers - lets return to smaller local fishing boats and having a simpler weight limit on the catch rather than seeing fish returned to the water dead. And whilst ...

Dont think I could be bothered with all the aggro of doing this but 10/10 for ingenuity - and fair play for doing it.
