blackpool sands report

At blackpool sands last night quiet fishing with the spider crabs stripping my bait. Did a bit of spinning with a sidewinder as the light was fading. Not expecting much suddenly got a decent strike and landed my first bass of the summer. Even more chuffed when I realised at 4lbs it was a pb. Did I m...

Beesands sunday

Was down at Beesands on Sunday loads of people about and a few fishing. Decided to get the rod out the car and had a quick bash gatting a few mackeral for dinner. There were a couple of kids a little way down the beach from me playing at casting so once I'd got enough I let them have a go at reeling...

I had the miss guided belief that with enough treats in my pocket I could start to train the dog to behave while i'm casting etc. No such luck but worth a try.

I think that gate has been kept locked for quite a while. I'm not sure the procedure for getting it opened would be but as it's disabled parking down there the must be able to open it up. Failing that i've got a set of bolt croppers you could borrow ;)

Was it a sandeel? How big do they get?

Yesterday I was fishing with spinners at a favourite spot. The tide wasn't right so wasn't expecting anything when I felt a slight knock. There wasn't much fight on the line but there was definatley something there.... reeled in and found what I think was a very large sandeel had taken the lure . Di...

The Bantham Hand

Considering trying 'the Bantham Hand' as a mark. Does anybody have any info on this spot? Am I likely to get cut off at Hight tide, what tide fishes best, is it snaggy, am I better off trying bait fishing, is it a worthwhile mark? Any info would be helpful but particularly am I likely to get cut off...
