Shakespeare sell a tray similar to that and i got one free with my box when i bought it and i found as mrix said it actually cut the amount of storage space in half as it sits below the lip there is not enough space below or on top to store much more than a wallet and cushion. I'd go for the shakespeare salt i have a few rods from the salt range and use them all the time alongside my more expensive century rods. For the money they are superb rods ad the constuction is top quality considering the price you get quality rings and reel seats.

weeds not much of a problem where i fish so most of the time i'm ok if weed becomes a problem then i will put the rod higher. I allways have a good scout around the venues i fish at low tide to keep myself aware of any changes to the ground and any potential snags that may present themself

I allways carry a spare knife and sharpen both before leaving home trying to sharpend them on the beach or rocks is asking for an accident to happen.

I use coloured reel line and coloures shockleader and have never had a problem but i allways use clear rig body and snoods plus all my fishing is in the bristol channel i could use a tow rope and the fish wouldn't see it.
