WHAT WOULD BE THE INTEREST IN THIS?
Right, i have just spoken to Hamdden Ltd, who run the leisure side to Welsh Water. I have asked them if it would be possible to have a limited numbers Kayak competition at LYS-Y-Fran resevoir in Pembrokeshire, eith this or next year. The initial response was somewhat dissapointing, however to save m...

I use a 9.5 foot spinning rod, slightly chopped (car door), which is fine for both drifting with a lure / Spinner or trolling. Usually i have the lure 20-30 yards behind the yak, shallow divers in shallow water aswell as some jellies eg holographic & redgill eels, sometimes with just a big split sho...

hi I have a tarpon 120 retro fitted to angler spec. I fish mainly the west coast of wales, UK, with a few regional trips. You need to treat a kayak as a small boat, as in a means to get your bait / lure somewhere where walking cannot. Some will anchoring requires practice. I never anchor, unless the...

Yeah I agree there. Beaching it, generally u get off it before you hit the beach. Without water for support, u quickly get to see life from a whole new angle! Lessons, yes, i dint, but i already had some previous training from a teenager, bit like riding a bike, soon came back to me. Safety is param...

It is nice to go out with others, but Id rather get out alone, as usually I will find some other yaker out there anyway! It realy not that much effort alone, the only time its a bit daunting is the first time u take a dip...thats the time u wish u had practiced falling off more, but it has to be don...

You can dig for blow lug locally in Solva harbour, although the locals can get funny about people doing so! Rag can be dug in quantity at Jubilee Beach, Dale if you feel like it. This beach supplies the majority of tackle shops locally anyway. Its not uncommon for people from Cardigan to venture the...

The prowler for me wasnt the best choice, sure its very popular but its also heavy, has in my opinion too much space for clutter. WHY anglers take 3-4 rods with them is beyond me...its more to get wet! I have a Tarpon 120, now kitted as an Angler, 12 feet long, light enough to LIFT on car roof unaid...

West Wales Meet up?
Right, everywhere else on this forum seems to get some burger cooking, camping, beer driven Kayak fish weekend, but for some reason we in West Wales in particular Pembrokeshire seem to be either too busy or too secretive about where we paddle.... SO, who would be up for a fish / paddle, reasonable l...
