River or Coast?

Thinking of going on my first winter outing of the year in the next week or so and would like some advice on were is fishing better at the moment please. Ive heard fish are being caught from the river but wonderd if the coast would be better, any info would be good.

Just the one 2 pounder will do me and i no the gully your on about there was one further up the beach last january which produced well.

weve had south winds so you dont fish spurn fishing the point at spurn is a gamble now as all the crab pots and nets that are lost in storms are washing in to the deep water channell and are the reason you can loose a lot of gear spurn is a funny spot to fish you want a really big tide in one spot ...

Spurn point report

set off for spurn to fish it two hrs before and after high tide and decided to fish the very tip and strangely there wasnt a sole in sight ( excuse the fish pun). Well at least it sounds like were all in the same boat, 2 years fishing and havent caught my first shore cod yet and i would still take a flatty anyday!
