went to aldebrugh last friday had 3 1 1/2 codling all went back 2 doggies loads of pin whiting and pout was there 3.30pm fri to 10am sat.

Hi all I went down by worlds end loads of very tiny pin whiting, but had 4 really nice fat flatties., so hopefully wont be long before the bigger stuff come up the river after all the dredging settled down, come on fishes. Steve.

I must admit, that the winds we are experiencing are rather unusual, it does not seem to abate, just constant winds, hope will blow themselves out for a while so we can wet a line.

Hello matty,
all I have heard is that there are thornies and bass in the river at mo, and about 5 weeks ago there were a loot of sprats about, as I have not been out for a few months, I cannot say any more than that, hope someone has a bit more info than I.

We went out sun before last on my mates boat, we had 7 cod between 4lb -6lb between 3 of us was like a mill pond out there.

I use amnesia too, and find that really good on the shore, now on a boat its different,as if targeting skate (thornies) i use 60 -100lb traces to hook as they would and could grind through anything lighter, for cod i normally use the 40lb amnesia but have just started to use 25lb flurocarbon line ( ...

the fish are high in the water and our baits are down the bottom, if we didnt put them on the bottom the pull of the tide will soon have you up the beach or bow bangled with someone else lol

I understand the river is full of them, when do we expect them to disappear ? do we need a really good easterly blow to disperse them? if so hopefully the cod will be more occupied with our baits than these little buggers. Might try tilbury fort soon, heard a lot of whiting caught down that way. Tig...
