these rods are designed for light estury fishing
i.e, over head thumps with 4oz of lead max
i wouldnt try and wind it up with a full pendulum

the source match 13ft would be the better model for that type of work

the vipers are very nice rods but beware, they do go soft very quickly

IMHO you wont beat century rods, look at the tip tornado match or super match rods

unless you have a private boat u will be hard pushed to go tope fishing
from yorkshire.

there is lots of tope out there that average 50lb and go up to and over 80lb

on certain tides of the year they can be hooked from the beaches but are rarely landed

you will get plenty of whiting and dabs but not much else

unbelievable
the amount of tope out there in brid bay and no charter boats target them

south end of the coast should fish on a small tide, but if its rough (like its forcast) could be the north end that fishes
