Fish swallowing hooks...

Hi all, just wondering what everyone's views are on what to do when a fish has swallowed the hook. Obviously if the fish is of a legal size then I'd usually just knock it on the head, but I'm really talking about when an undersized fish, probably a flattie with a tiny mouth, has swallowed the hook r...

Hi mate, I've got one of the same mackerel-green ones, in a smallish size. To be honest I've never had any luck with it but when you're reeling them in they do look seriously realistic. The way you can flick them from side to side looks just like a little fish flapping about on the surface. A few ti...

As long as someone's caught something that's good enough for me.
Thanks mate.

Norfolk Coast Fishing

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone's been catching anything along the North Norfolk Coast, particularly between Cley and Weybourne. It all sounds pretty gloomy from what I hear, could do with a bit of inspiration to do some fishing.
Cheers.

The windfarm I'm talking about is off the coast of Norfolk (where all the seals are dying). They're only just laying the foundations and apparently there are going to be 88 turbines when it's finished so they've got a way to go yet...

There aren't actually any finished windturbines built yet, I think the idea is that it's the large rig thing being used to lay the foundations that might be killing the seals (either a big drill or some kind of pile-driver).

Might have to look into the dredging idea though, hadn't thought of that.

No worries mate, sorry for sounding a bit up tight with what I wrote earlier. I know what you mean about the photo he used, I guess maybe that was the only seal he's actually seen up close so maybe he doesn't have any better photos. I've just had to take his word for it that a lot of the seals do ha...

I fully agree- never take anything at face value (especially if it's in The Sun). But, for a start the guy who wrote the article is a good friend of my family, and I can safely say he's a decent guy with his head screwed on tight. He has nothing whatsoever to do with commercial fishing. He's actuall...

North Norfolk- Mutilated seals and massacred fish - Enjoy.

Hi guys, before I say anything else I'd like to say that I'm all in favour wind-power and other renewable energy sources, but only if they don't do more damage than good. Basically, anyone who cares about fish, seals, or wildlife in general should read a short article called 'A Deadly Sea' posted at...

Lure fishing at night

Just out of interest has anyone ever tried fishing at night with a glowing lure? I only thought of it because one night last year I was mackerel fishing using feathers with little rubber shrimp heads that glow in the dark. As it got dark I carried on catching for quite a while after everyone else ha...

Hi guys, had a look at that website, looks really good. Is there anyone from my area (near holt, north norfolk) that has ordered any live bait from there? If so I'm just wondering how the worms are sent and what sort of condition they're in when they arrive (if the company will actually send them to...

Yeah, I got given some worms the other day and most of them were pretty much too skinny to fit on the hook. The same guys gave me some live crabs as well and some of them were about the size of a 2p coin! I put them all back in the sea in the end. Anyway thanks for the help guys, useful stuff to know.
