first trip out on the yak

did my first yak fishing trip today along hamble river . total 5 miles 2 rods with a spinning plug and a diving lure = nowt, but it still early in the year and my hands will tell ya that the water is still to cold. still will try around BP jetty in the week just to get out !!!!! any yak tips welcome...

That's kinda my idea of fun ! Getting towed along by a big smut!
I've downsized from that money pit of an idea they call a boat . Target now plugging for bass , macky bashing and fun with the hounds on crabs all a 2 minute drive from my door !

Smuts and macky ?

Hi all , are they showing yet top of the Solent area as I've just got a kayak and can't wait to get my feet wet ! Also looking for any fellow yakers to join up with around the Hamble/netley area along down to lee-on-Solent!
Also is it worth going crabing yet ,are they in ?

ive had the boat 3 years and its always done it at full throttle but i never go anywhere at full , just get her on the plain and back it off. its always had dole fins fitted and its becoming more apparent at cruising speeds. cant find much on the net about the noise it makes just the effects!!!!!!!

high rev rattling (poss prop cavitation)

hi , im after some help . my seahog shorty with a 40hp 2 stroke mariner has started to rattle when at higher speeds but goes when i back off then re apply revs but now each trip its getting more noticable. the trim tab plate was loose above prop and have tightened up and now its even more noticable....

fished greenlands last week and the red one oppisite 4pm till 10 pm , nowt but pin whitting [about 40] a few smut pups and 1 nice plaice.
were are all the sole i was plugging out this time last year.?

i`ve just got myself a 34ld thrust minkota for my seahog shortie.
did a bit a research (10 mins on google) and they seem to get best reviews and life span. havent tried yet as waist of time going out till there are some fish back in the sea.
