It's very quiet everywhere, I'm afraid.
The only tip I can give you is get some mackerel, whiting have a preference for it, and there are a few more about than cod.

Other than that, good luck!

Sounds a bit iffy to me, I presume the boat is 8 foot? Why not consider a kayak? There are many groups around the country who meet and I'm sure would give you an insight into the sport. You would need Kayak Radio, I think you do a 1 day course on it's use. Dry suit Fishfinder (optional) Roof rack fo...

Glad you have been offered some work.

Hit and miss all around the coast, I'm afraid.
Even the reputed cod marks are patchy, so the only thing you can do is stick a pin in a map, go, and cross your fingers.......

Well, if they can afford to drastically drop prices of tackle to those who either live local or have the spending power to buy in bulk, then they should drop their (inflated) prices in the shops.

One manufacturer to avoid buying from in the future........

Don't worry m8, there's a cod out there with your name on it.
It just seems the codling this year have not hit the beaches, so, fishing is hard.
Maybe the spring run will be better, crossing fingers.

Personally, I would go a bit further south than Mappleton.

Tunstall is a good steep beach to fish from with a good gulley.

Will give you directions if you pm me

The bait is called crab cart, made from edible crabs.
It works like any other bait, good on it's day.

By all means keep some in your arsenal, but, don't rely on it to catch every time.

You could be fishing cart, and the fish are feeding on mussel, so, keep your options open.
