I been fishing around folkestone for most of my life and i find a rerl with a quick retrieve like the penn 525 to be one of the best for both pier and beach, alot easier to control than the slosh. Had my 2 penns since they first came out and still work very well for the amount of abuse they have had...

im not sure but i think its the folkestone 2 day pier festival this weekend and its gonna be closed to the public, i only just found that out about an hour ago.
I know this is probably abit late but you might want to phone up one of the local tackle shops to find out before you go.

If you want to stay in folkestone the you only really have a couple or options, which would be the local pier or the rotunda beach. personally i would goto the pier but at the moment, like most places around our area all you will probably see if whiting, doggies and dabs.

You can fish the pier at any state of the tide, there's always water there.
What you might catch are dabs, whiting, pouting and doggies with the slight chance of a codling or even a sole. i would put my money on a shed load of dabs if you are in the right spot.

Its an old Coal rail pier, you can fish the seaward side at the moment, the lower side (with the rails on) is not accessable to the public at this moment.

yep but that would probably be a problem for anything made by twisting wire or aluminum tape or spark plugs, at the end of the day the only really true safe way is use lead weights.

i would think it is the diameter of the tip that the ring will fit onto. did a quick google search but couldnt find anything, did the end snap off then? im guessing another idea is maybe contact dawia and see if anyone can tell you what it is.
