Cheers for that,I did realise the depth issue but was just trying to get a gauge as to what it was likely to be so I knew whether I had to cast hard or not.I know at high water a 30-40yd chuck can often be about right there.

you can usually get a window of an hour or so , but you just never know , much better fishing kicker over low water and the start of the flood ;) What sort of depth do you get at low water here ? I am assuming,as its a deep water mark, that the low water depth is similar to a smaller high tide at Ea...

http://www.sea-fishing.org/ftopict-30986.html for parking ;) Fishing spots have remained the same for years. Fenced off to the left as the SBS have there base there. Bait this time of year will be rag,lug and squid. Tides above 4.3m are best avoided as you will struggle to hold bottom. So with a 3....

Gilkicker

It seems that I may have a bit more scope for my planned trip on Sunday. Quite fancy Gilkicker as always did fairly well there when I fished it years ago. Got a few Q's if anyone can help - Has much changed as to where you can fish ? Best baits - always used to be rag and squid for me.... Parking - ...

Thanks for the tips. It seems likely, due to circumstances, that we will end up fishing Eastney beach on the 4.20pm high on Sunday. Will be fishing approx 2.30 - 8pm I reckon. Hopefully may bag a few whiting, but definitely want to get floundering in the new year so will have a look at all those marks....

well, I am giving the Gem to my son as I have bitten the bullet and bought a whole new set up (look for the angler with the shiny new gear on Hayling front!!) It now means that I have a willing and keen fishing buddy into the bargain as I got him some gear at the same time so can't wait to get down ...
