Anyone know anything about this spinning reel?

Shakespeare Noris Dynamic 2173. I believe Shakesapeare dropped the 'Noris' part of their name in the 70's but not having much luck narrowing it down or whether it was a budget or top end model. The build quality certainly seems very high. Looks to be covered in an almost ceramic like coating (I'm gu...

Good idea for easy fish measurement?

Just a thought and feel free to flame me if this is the norm but why not mark the minimum limits of fish down the side of your priest either with marker or tape? Or for on boats get a biggish diameter drain pipe, cut it in half length ways and mark it too? That way not faffing around too much Am I a...

Cardiff/Penarth Barrage

Gone through the barrage several times on boats and there always seems to be people fishing on it but never any mention of it on here.

Any reason for this? Rubbish compared to Penarth pier? Water too dirty to eat the fish due to boats? Everyone too stingy to pay for parking?

As mentioned above Morgan are very good and can't recommend them enough. My Father's last 2 computers have come from them and my last one and i'd use them again. How much music you want to download doesn't really come into it as hard discs are stupidly cheap these days if you want to upgrade. As for...

Severn Beach/Second Severn Crossing

Parents live closeish (Thornbury) and want to get a bit of fishing in when I visit next. Where's the best place to go? Had a wander down there and it looks as if the platform directly under the crossing looks like a good place (casting into the deeper channel before the first support). Or is that wr...

Re: Dogfish skin

Hi all What is the best way to skin a doggie? also any decent recipies out there? andi pliers and lots of effort! If eating best way to cook is chunk it then dunk in a flour/cayenne pepper mix and fry. Doesn't really taste of much unless it's a little old or been skinned a fair bit after it's kille...

Personally I use an Abu uptider 9' 6" rated up to 8 ozs. That may sound a bit OTT but at least I know it won't bust easily and can also be used on the boat when I want. Like the sound of this. Surely fixed spool reel won't work though? Or as uber casting distance isn't really that important are the...

Spinning/Plugging/Lure fishing

Read an article in this months Sea Angler and really want to give it a bash this spring/summer.

Anyone else had ago around South/West Wales? Seems the perfect set up to keep in the car if the fancy takes you as no need to get bait, etc.

complete with a spool stripper. sounds good :D I'm pretty new to this fishing lark and thought they (spooling stations) were a bit of a gimick. However I stripped 3 reels and replaced the lines on Sunday. Seemed to take forever, especially as I didn't have anyone to hold the spools and bodged somet...

Salted black lug

As with sand eel post - cheap on fleabay.

Is it worth hydrating them a little before hooking (ie, bung em in water) to bulk them up or just let the sea do it?
