Sorry above post has mentioned fairly long walks, but I am afraid you will not catch much staying in the town, only yachts and people. If you cannot get out too far try South sands beach around to the right off the rocks, you may pick up school Bass from here, but this is not a place that I have eve...

Hi there, your best bet is to catch the ferry over to East Portlemouth then head on towards the coastal path by foot. This will take you to some good rock marks. It is a bit of a hike so go light. Alternatively park up at Overbecks in Salcombe take the coastal path again keep hiking you will come to...

My favourites are

heavy beachwork- Penn 525

Rocks- Daiwa Slosh30

Floundering/mulleting-small fixed spool

This is just my opinion, but has worked grest over the years

East Portlemouth is a very frustrating beach, I have had plaice, Thornbacks, Bass, Wrasse, flounders and Giltheads close by, But also countless blank days. For all the effort it has never been great, but if you pick the right time and tide it can produce, but this is the difficult part!!

I would also recommend Torbay Angling, great help and best prices.
Bought my last Century there and was cheapest around. You could try Torcross , Beesands and Hallsands beaches for all types of fish. Parking right on beaches so no long walks. Good luck
