Anyway some people managed to catch some mackreel and some none...but they seemed to turn up at odd times and some peri...

Hi, many thanks for the update. I have been looking for the mackreel myself, 2 times this year but now luck, except once the odd 2-3. Wonder where they have gone, however if anyone knows or when they find them, any update advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi, was there on Saturday, maybe the gang of 15 guys you refered to earlier. I was a newbie here last year and heard some of my mates had some good fish there, hence joined them that day. I myself managed to get 16 Mack's in total, which were actually my first sea fish ever. Was going to try to fish...

The Herring we caught was around Stockholm area in quite deep water, but from shore, say like from a rock side, sort of 10-15m high up, where the water is quite deep. Yes, we caught them with rod and line, exactly the same way as Mackrele, however I have never caught Mackrele, but I think Mackrele i...

Herring fishing?

Hi all, I am new to the forum. Just wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to catch Herring and where in UK? About 10years ago, before moving here from Sweden, every year we used to do Herring fishing during the summer, and it used to be very easy. We used like mackrele feathers, 5-6 hooks, slig...

Hi, I am new to the forum and decided to try mackrele fishing for the first time. I went down to Brighton Marina on Sunday 11/05/08 between 1.30 to 5.10 pm, all the way from Bedford, but had no fish at all. There was a lot of people but no one had any. Also no other fish as well, except 1-2 people c...
