Fished Southbourne , at Double Dykes, on Saturday night with my lad and a mate. Between us we had sole, tub gurnard, flounder, a small thornback and loads of pout. All fell to rag at short, medium and long range. Sandeel wasn't touched. Not a bad session for a neap tide. Always best after dark espec...

Milford shingle bank 03/08/10

Fished the bank last night about half way along from 5pm to 10pm, fishing high water down with rag and squid. Three bream , to about a pound, and a mackie that took my bait on the way in. Lots of bites but the wind was a pain so missed too many. The weed featured for about an hour as the tide turned...

Hi, If you fish a bit further along , where the cliffs start at Double Dykes, you stand a good chance of rays at night. I've had them there before on rag as well as some good sole fairly close in. There's always schoolies around there as well. Fish one rod out as far as you can and one in close, you...

Tides have been way too big recently. I would check with local tackle shops before venturing out there. Not alot being caught at the moment in that area, apart from slugs and pout after dark. Rays and plaice have got to start sometime though!! I have fished the bank in horrendous weather before , no...

It ran off with a whole bluey in it's mouth and the owner just looked on and really cheered me up with a friendly, " Well, at least it wasn't your yummy sandwiches"!!!!!!!! I sat there chunttering on like Mut...

Hurst shingle bank 20/12/09

Went out yesterday after codling or bass but only caught 3 rockling and 2 small pollock. Fished down from high water (1100) to low water (1800) using squid/lug/rag and macky. Very cold in the wind but very little weed.

Hi, I changed to F1 this year on my Penn Mag in 15lb and got very frustrated as every time I tied the leader knot the F1 snapped as I tightened up the coils. I then realised that I needed to tie the shockleader knot first and pull the F1 throgh a bit before tying the knot in it so that any crushed F...

ASDA essential dry wash anti-bacterial hand gel. A small bottle is only 43p and fits nicely in your tackle box.
