Sea Fishing Angling

I work at Custom House and often see lads spinning and using lures for the bass in the docks - The one by Excel. Last year I saw a fella with one lure caught bass around 10lbs.

Its not been good on the thornie side of things this year. I've been 3 times in May and june using blueys and not a thing. I haven't met anyone who has caught one this year. Whiting and pout and schoolie bass showing from most points. Mullet also around.

Thanks fella's. I just came back from Aldbrough fishing. I tried a couple of jackets on in Saxmundham Tackle. IMAX XXL gave me the right arm length but I think there was room for another person. I'll try the Romford Brewery thanks.

Sorry to hear your plight. I normally find Bradwell to be pretty clean. Do you fish there much in winter and if so have you had any luck. I've been trying round at Holiwell point which has been busy with lots of whiting and the odd codling.

Looking great- Well done. What baits were working and were you plagued with small whiting?

Nice one. The drivers always lose! I fished the week before and was easily beating both my mates until the cod arrived. Both of them kept catching codling up to 4lb while I was stuck with the tremendous whiting. Still at least I didn't have to gut any fish at 4 in the morning.

You can catch herring from Southend Pier and around the River Crouch which is nearby. However they tend mostly to be around December and January. I don't know where they go after that.
