I think a sideways drift is normal with the angler moving around the boat if it swings. I am sure a drogue would be a pain in the butt to use and would cut down on fishing time retrieving it and putting it back down repeatedly. I believe matching the circle hook size to the size of fish is very important. A small circle hook is unlikely to get a good hold on a big fishes jaw .
