Yea there trench spades. But i find it doesnt really matter how wide the blade is. Obiously if the area your digging in has lots of shell in the sand then yea it could make pushing a wider spade in harder, but if you use your foot aswell then there shoulnt be hardly any problem getting it in there. ...
