Any one fancy showing me how to pump worms???

Hi all, I've been away from the site for a few months, and my first post back is to ask for some help to be shown how to use a bait pump properly. I've had one for quite a while and can pump about 20 worms on average per session, I still miss a lot of worms and I want to improve my success rate. I l...

All you need is a big spring low and get out looking under rocks and through gullies. I always wear a glove on 1 hand and pick them up with that as velvets are really quick and aggressive and you'll know it if they get hold of you. >:D<

I think it'll depend on the venue you fish, I've had them at 180 yrds wading out and line backing on the low-water and at 40yrds over the high tide on a steep shingle beach. have a word to the local anglers on the location you fish, they'll let you know the score ;)

Thanks Captain! Sounds like you have been fishing longer than me. I do OK generally but a bit envious of people who seem to know exactly where, what tide, what wind etc etc to target fish. I guess that is experience. I usually fish either on my own or with my very understanding partner, so most of ...

The first place that springs to mind is samphire hoe, I've been told you can catch wrasse from there. Not sure if there to any size. Had a small ballen wrasse of about 10oz from palm bay last summer on crab while I was targeting bass, thats only the second one I've ever caught. Anywhere nice and roc...

Re: Ray Talk !!

There seems to be lots of posts about rays, like they turn up like mackeral in their hundreds, which they don't !!! If you persevere tide after tide you may get one, but in reality most of us won't!!! I'm going to give it a go, as I did last year and blanked, so don't imagine they are easy fish to ...

Just got back from digging and the wind has dropped right off, so I'd say it could be worth a shot. Looks like the wind isn't gonna be as bad predicted. The met office forecast has changed, and thats usually accurate

I wouldn't discount clean beaches either, especially if there's a surf running, best to look around at low...
