Best way would be to join in with a lot of the locals,

Buy a 20 od foot boat, pay for your lisecnses, by a set of nets to fit to your boat, and proceed to tow your nets up and down within all of the areas that hold any fish and rape the estuary of its fish.

ive been told by a few people that having the drag a little loose when casting can wreck the gears so make sure its tight before you cast it. also told that when packing the reel away that i should have the drag set fairly loose. not sure the reason for this but only takes a second so i do it anywa...

After buying one myself, I could reccomend abu's Hellbender rods. I bought the 12' 8" hellbender M rod. Its a good rod for casting, will easily put a 170g lead and bait 120yds, and has brilliant bite detection. Has a "through action" tip, but has quite a stiff butt to give good distance, so will cas...

I agree with Bucko, something which suits you.
But if you are fishing over cleanish ground, and are looking for a rod which will cast a good distance without risking splatting soft baits, and show small rattles, then an ABU Hellbender M isnt a bad rod at all

Rotten Bottoms ???????

I have a couple of marks close to me which are a bit tackle hungry, but need a decent cast to get a chance of a decent fish or two. Ive never liked the idea of trying to cast by hanging the lead on one of the hook type rotten bottoms, and tied to the rig with 10lb line for when it released, incase i...

Popped down there myself for a couple of hours this afternoon, from around 3ish til about 5.30................. Used some blow lug, squid and mackerel for baits/cocktails and didnt have anything other than one small codling. Was a fair bit of an easterly wind blowing though, dont know wether this ha...

Daiwa Infintiy Duo

Caught my eye in the tackle shop the other day and bought a spool to try it..............
Good line in my opinion, 20lb line the diameter of most 15lb lines. Nice and limp, so it casts well from a 525mag and knots very well. Good abrasion resistance for a thin line too

I would be a bit carefull with the thumbscrew and not overdo it when tightening it up, due to most rod blanks only having thin walls, incase you crack the rod.
Other than that they look quite good, and might be tempted to have a close look at one myself :-/

I dont think you'll damage the rod pulling it appart as long as you pull/twist it in a straight line, incase you damage the female part of the joint. I have had the same thing with the hellbender i bought a few months ago. The main joint in the rod is ok, bit stiff though, but the joint for the redu...

Popped up to Scars elbow myself on Friday, had one small codling just before high tide, barely a pound in weight, aswell as a good drenching ......... better than blanking though i guess, as with all that rain it would have taken the peesh catching nothing. Went again yesterday for an hour either si...

lol Yeah i know............. Thing is though, the whole PC thing, and anti this and anti that, it wouldn't surprise me if they had started to put angling bans in place around parts of the coast. I'll probably get shot down in flames for expressing my opinion, but in short........ All it takes to get...

Dungeness Fishing Ban ---- Immediate effect

There has been a thread started with regards to somebody hearing of a blanket ban on all fishing from Dungeness due to the protection of foliage on the beach (or something like that) aswell as litter and damage to shingle banks.... and a similar sort of thing to be put in place at Orford soon Has an...

Yeah i agree completely, in that we as fishermen/women get the blame from the off. Bit out of order really, as nobody would be aloud to say it was turkish/greek people leaving kebab wrappers along a town centre on a friday night, but ho hum thats the way it is. Rabbi, ive had the same thing happen t...
