They are fairly easily available, with the best deals via mailorder. You need a medium sized fixed spool reel, with about 10lb line. The following link would be ideal http://www.fishingmegastore.com/acatalog/Spinning_Outfits.html The 3rd deal on the page !! You can spend a lot more on a rod if you w...

Hi, 9 0r 10ft would be perfect. The main thing to look for is how much they cast. I use a 10ft that casts 20 to 40 gramms, which is ideal for my purpose. If you need more distance for where you fish then you could go up to a 70gramm rod, however this will be a little stiffer to use. Hope that helps ...

Southbourne is fishing pretty well at the moment, although everything does seem a bit on the small side. lots of bream, the odd sole & ray.
Southbourne would be my ideal venue in the area at the moment. Easier to fish than Milford as well

HI Concrete, should be pretty good fishing by then, with plenty of bass, sole, and Ray, plaice especially off avon beach in christchurch or southbourne. Also milford shingle bank slightly further east for bass, bream, ray etc, best bait i would say rag, macky and sandeel Hope this helps mate Blakie

Continental fishing is different to the UK, They tend to use longer lighter rods, which although would do the job on a nice clean beach, it is far from ideal. My advice is buy in this country, from a local shop that will know what sort of gear is needed for the area. Most shops will offer a starter ...

They do come up on Ebay fairly regularly, ie once a week or so, but go for loads of money. The last 2 went for £250 ish each.

Not cheap at all, but as you say, a cracking rod :D

Fished Milford a couple of weeks back with Flyingspud. When the tide started to flood and with the strong s/w wind we got totally weeded out! Up until that point it was good fishing, with Mackeral, black Bream and Bass. I think it's pot luck!
