It depends on where you are fishing. The minimum I use for basic beach casting is the length of the rod plus 6ft. If you are fishing off rocks or high piers then you need to have enough leader so that you can lift the fish up to you, ( with 20lb mainline you can usually lift most fish ). B-) http://...

Tricky one. If you are fishing around stuctures (i.e piers), kelp beds or rocks then you can almost be certain to find fish most of the year. You can fish open water from the beach with a float but this method is a bit hit and miss, but can be fun on calm flat days when the float is easily visible. ...

One of the mags covered this. It is recommended that you have a pump system fitted so that the sea water is pumped to the top tray in the fridge and makes its way down to the bottom tray then to a sump with the pump in. The pump was only pumping a small amount of water but enough to oxygenate the wa...

Try the Aquarius chest waders that are advertised in Sea Angler.
I was given a pair to replace my old ones.
They are warm and I havn't had any problems with leaks despite several outings over jagged rocks

They are the sort of bait that you can keep in the freezer for emergencies. Not used them myself but I know a few friends that have, and they have caught them fish, but in areas where there are lots of fish. (so they would have caught with almost anything) I have used crab flavour bait additives wit...

so, at what point does the tide turn, so that you may use a float? Is it after the point of high tide (the exact time)...or 2 hours after? wotnofish is right. You would only use a float in suitable conditions. Rock marks, piers, harbour walls etc.etc... You vary the depth to wherever the fish are. ...
