All the Sussex rivers were dumping flood water over this weekend, so maybe the fishing wouldnt have been so good. But prior to the rains, during the cold snap, the rivers were all producing pretty well towards the mouths. Maddies are the numero uno bait this time of year, but small kings would find ...

I'm afraid its a very different year this year. Very few cod reported, and recently its just whiting, odd flounder, and very recently rockling increasing in numbers. During daylight very little at all, highlighted by a recent match of shoreham arm regulars with just five small fish recorded amongst ...

They have pretty much deserted the pagham beaches. West beach and Bracklesham bay would be the places to go hound hunting now.

I would suggest you dont flog your pike gear in any kind of a hurry. My clients and I have been enjoying some great carp rod action along the beaches of Shoreham, portslade and Brighton when the conditions are favourable. http://www.fishyrob.co.uk/newdiary/Sources/25042009_3.jpg http://www.fishyrob....

Hi All, there were reports of maccies being caught from Brighton Marina back in February, apparently not that uncommon to be catching them down there that early. Some folk get very mixed up, it was herring that was taken at Brighton Marina in February. Problem is a lot of folk in the South don't ev...

The spent thin one I presume was 3.5lb from the East arm of the Brighton marina last Monday. A few are falling to the boats on the 3.4 mile marks. Didnt hear anything confirmed from Eastney as yet, but then they might as last year pretty much byepass the area altogether. I do no that fish are coming...

The timing of your trip was unfotunate, in that although the tide was a reasonable size (quite a rip on the flood dont you think?) yesterday was the first time that the sea dropped its colour since about the middle of January. Fishes best at night when its clear. If I had spotted your original post ...

Re: post

if you can cast distance you then have the option of fishing both so i don,t agree that casting distance doesn't matter everyone should have a range to aim for especially if you want the bigger fish in some places 50m may not be enough so what your saying is stay on the beach or dock side and you w...

Re: D-vice

Hey guys. I've been looking at this new D-vice recently and was wandering if anyones actually used one. How would you set up a rig for it?? I guess it would be similar to a single c/down but having the snood a bit longer (and obviously not clipped). Also, I'm thinking of switching to braid for my F...

no one in the world can cast 200yds with bait. to get a 140 yds with bait you need to be getting 200yds on the field, to cast 100yds with bait you need to be able to cast 125 yards on the field as distance goes up the gap difference gets bigger, i know this from john holden. Technically not correct...

Re: Question Brighton Marina

Please can anyone tell me if night fishing is allowed on Brighton Marina?? Has anyone caught much there lately?? Thanks Like everywhere at the moment, although there are some decent whiting still around on some tides. Night fishing is allowed. If your coming all the way from Shoebury, I would sugge...
