concrete
For me 80lb would be just a little bit heavy I would recommend 60lb the make doesnt really matter as long as the quality is good and that comes from the type of ground you fish.

Re: WD40

Calm yourself codroe, I have been fishing for over 26 years mate and have seen alot worse than a bit of WD40. I dont agree at all with any kind of pollutant but i hardly think that a tiny fine mist of spray oil is going to pollute the sea. Its not as if you are throwing buckets of the stuff in, aft...

Best advice for fishing off rocks is dont go alone if you do wear a flotation jacket.
And while your out try a bit of lure fishing also its great fun and keeps you busy when you cant sit about on wet rocks etc.

Those cards you talk of they just tell Tesco where you shop outsode of Tesco then they can target those firms and put them out of business your just helping Tesco to do there market reserach so they can rule the high street

If you dont mind the risk Ebay is good for cheap gear.
Failing that Glasgow Angling Centre has some good quality reels at reasonable prices as does Veals Mail order.
As for a good rig the simplest is a paternoster.

Portland Rig?

Has anyone heard of a Portland Rig for catching Bass.It is apparently very good and easy to tie.Does anybody know how to set one up or is it just a different version of the Paternoster?
