Fished Bawdsey last Sat night which is just down the coast from Shingle St. 2 of us had 10 codling, reasonable size but very lean and 1 sole. Used lug and rag. Fished from low tide up to an hour before high. All bites came after dark.

Shingle Street

I can't beleive it!
Dug rag and lug at Wrabness. Got to Shingle St at 7.00pm and fished until 11.30pm. My mate and I got 1 bite each. Sometimes crabbed sometimes untouched.
Arrghhh
Where are the fish?

Southend

Thanks Wattsy, found the video 26th April one on fishing focus. Seems mainly referring to Charter, think I'll take general advice and stick to our end of Essex or Suffolk.
Thanks for the contributions. ;;)

Tight Lines TV Prog and Southend

Thanks Stuart, I am one of those friendly Colchester SAC members. The point being made so far is don't bother. I didn't see the recent Tight Lines programme so can't comment on the venues being researched, still no comments from any other Southend anglers or are they keeping quiet about their hotspo...

Tight Lines TV Prog and Southend

Hi Did not see recent Tight Lines prog but gather it discussed fishing at Southend - don't think it was the pier. Can anyone give some quick advice as to where they were referring to or where are good alternatives around Southend other than the pier. Live in Colchester so looking to fish during the ...

East Mersea

Fished there last Monday 19th Nov. Forgot how far it was to walk to the point - 30 mins. Cold easterly and fished the 2 hours up. One small whiting and lots of weed and one other missed bite. Lots of people will tell you it is supposed to fish well but it is a long walk and the tide rip is quite str...

Orwell - Fishing Report

Our club, Colchester Sea Angling, fished the Orwell at Ipswich docks on Sunday and the fishing was patchy to say the least. Only 2 lads caught flounders and one got 3 and the other 2. Good quality fish taken on maddies although one took lug. All caught close in (near the side). Lots of small crabs b...
