Hi..First post and sorry that this is after the event but at Chapel Point car park there is an infra red camera looking at and around the car park at all times. Its as safe as it gets to be honest. Tight Lines Mark Infra red camera you say? I thought it was dark so nobody could see what I was doing...

This is one that I use for tide times. I'm too new at this to know if the Solunar calendar works or not.

I think you may find that there's quite alot of members browsing the forum without signing in and they would show up as guests. I was just doing that. The little security wiggly line eyeball wobbler signing in box is not always crystal clear for us oldies and I get it wrong sometimes so I more often...

I'll experiment a bit with the length of the bottom trace because, at high tide, it tended to tangle. Sod's law that it was just after it got dark because it had behaved really well until then. If you want to use this rig with a longer bottom snood it might be worth making the top half of the botto...

I went to Chapel Point this weekend and, having read this thread, I made up one of these rigs before I went. I caught a really good sized Whiting on it using half a baby Cuttlefish on a 1/0 2/0 Bass hook. I'll certailny use it again. I'll experiment a bit with the length of the bottom trace because,...

Bells and glow sticks

Because I often take the opportunity to do some writing while I wait for a bite, I use bells on my rod tips. Last time I went night fishing I had trouble with the battery contacts on one of the bells so I couldn't get the light going. I realised that the hole in the bell body that the light plugs in...

Hi Ian, thanks for that. I went to Huttoft in Nov and Dec and I really like it. See my post about fireflies on the beach at Huttoft. My buddy joined me for the first time in Dec. We're both quite new to it. We had reasonable catches and I got a really nice Plaice the first time I was there. A coinci...

Thanks for that Lee. My 4x4's so old that the alarm that came with it is an old tin can and a bit of string. We'll be kipping in it between tides too so the smell should keep all but a Rat with a bad cold away. I'm going to take a bit of string to tie my hat on with as well, looks like it will be wi...

After 54 views and no replies I shall assume that no news is good news and start loading the 4x4.

Chapel Point car park ?

My buddy and I are going to fish Chapel Point Saturday 21st into Sun 22nd. I know that nothing is guaranteed and it's a cruel world but, from what I can see from google maps, the beach is separated from the car park. As we have quite a long way to travel then I would like a car to go home in. Does a...

Fine, when you fancy a rod with a bit more power, etc., let us know before buying. It's so easy to spend a small heap of money and some tackle shops unfortunately will rip you off without giving good advice. Happened to my novice neighbour the other day who spent a small fortune on a 16ft rod which ...

Aaaah! Thank you Eccles, I guessed it was as simple as that but, being an old newbie to beachcasting I wondered if there was some magic property to the rod that I was missing out on :)
