Will it detect a sole bite which is more akin to a pull than a tremble? Time will tell- be interesting to see the results.

I didnt realise you were familiar with South Fambridge Eccles.
Peeler might not be any good where you are but it is a top bait in Essex as is ragworm- nice juicy King Rag. You have to match your bait to the ground you're fishing.

I was going to suggest using smaller hooks but you're not using big hooks. make sure they're razor sharp- might improve your hook ups- I've never been convinced on pulley pennel rigs for the fish you were targetting (if you were using a pulley pennel) - I would only use them on rough ground. Try a f...

Have to say I admire those who stick at Sea Angling in these very lean times. I compile match results for our club and find it very hard to get enthusiastic when I read of 5 hour matches fished with 2 rods being won with 1lb of fish consisting of a couple of dabs or whiting. Virtually no decent sole...

I'm not being funny Eccles but if this is the best Fishing website in the country then sea angling is in a worse decline than I ever imagined.

I was always taught that flounders suck in their bait so not to reel in on getting a bite- best to let the bite develop and allow the fish time to suck the bait in. Might prove a big challenge with the method being proposed but good luck and let us know how you get on.

I've seen the odd one being sold second hand but doubt any shops would still hold one. You'd be better off putting a post on one of the boat fishing forums (if its the uptider you want) or keep looking at Ebay
