This rod is very light and has very good bite detectection its a proper FISHING rod, The casting performance is exceptional but feels strange at first as it does not seem to have a lock up point. Most high perforformance rods I have tried such as Zipplex and Century all turn rigid during the cast and at this point can if your timing is off, burn your thumb. This rod is so smooth there is very little chance of this. I have compaired my NCT with my friends Zipplex Primo Hiflex and found the casting performance virtualy identical ie 160 yards with terminal tackle and bait (measured). The reel seat needs packing where your reel fits with a peice of rubber innertube or similar in order for the seat to grip the rod properly. I would recommend the 6oz over the 5 oz to make sure you do not run out of power. Summing up  Its very easy to cast for all abilities and is up there with the best in performance.
