Hi folks have recently bought a Sonic sk4 16ft multiplier version I have now used it a few times and found it superb, was worried it might wave about in strong winds due to its length but no worries the tip stays nice and firm and shows bites from even small dabs very well. The rod casts 6 oz no problem and does not run out of steam, I bought this to replace a zipplex NG1 pendulum rod which was a beast if you mistimed the cast! I find I can get 135 yds with 6 oz and bait with a simple overhead cast with no swing, with a pendulum cast 160 yds again with bait and I am sure somebody more competetant could cast even further. This rod is now my first choice for rough weather darkness fishing trips, the rod itself feels taught and light and not at all floppy, the reel seat is very loose on the butt so does not stay in place when you take the reel off, but with a reel attached stays rock solid when tightened up.
Downsides only minor :-Due to the length in strong SIDE winds catches the wind noticeably, you need a longer rod rest, on the max length for pendulum casting but you don’t need fancy casting to get far enough for most beaches.
Summary very easy casting, light and taught, sensitive for bites, 10 out of 10 for me!
