I've owned this rod for a good few years now. Brilliantly built by Gerry’s of Morcambe. It really is first class in every respect. It casts really well and mainly used for the Thames estuary, Southend in particular. I took it to Australia last year along with an Abu 5500 ct mag. I thought it might be a little under gunned on some of the bid surf beaches I fished. I was able to cast 130 grams with a whole pilchard a fair old way. Caught Taylor and salmon (pacific) to 12 pounds and had a 4-foot long port Jackson shark that weighed in at around 30 pounds. Not bad for a so-called 3-5 oz rated rod. I’m looking forward to getting a kompresser now I’m in Norfolk. Any one got one they want to sell?? Anyway,TipTornado Ultra Light is an international superstar as far as I’m concerned.
