IMAX 6 STROKE 7 BEACHCASTER Hi all, glad to make my second review and its on the imax beachcaster, there are 6 rods in the range to choose from, but the review is on the imax 6 stroke 7, this is the rought ground rod(scotland, bristol channel, north east, wales etc etc).its a 13.2ft 2 section rod with super strong spigot joint as you would expect, geniune fuji bmnag guides and an imax multi-lock reel seat(very solid),japanese shrink wrap handle and slim carbon fibre.you get a black and red imax rod bag and 2 imax rod straps, price is diffrent to which dealer you go to,i found north east tackle supplies in hartlepool-01429 265542 to give the cheapest price, but after asking at my local tackle shop they ordered it and matched the price at £145.i also bought an abu grip lock for it.the rod is slim and at first look the tip looked a bit thin to be the hard rod it is,but after closser inspection i was proved wrong with a real solid tip.finaly i got to fish it today(friday 18th dec 2005) at first it felt strange,i am used to cheap qaulity rods.i decided to put on a trace without a snood and spend 15 minutes casting with it,at first i was letting go too late because of loads more power than i am used to,but after getting the angles right i was getting the hang of if,so with putting more power into it the rod felt great and i noticed i was able to let the brakes off the 525 gs more and be in total control, after a while and my last few casts i was reaching spots were i could never hit before ,it was weird to start seeing all that line come off the reel but was very happy that a ruff ground rod could cast good.with now baiting up i wated about 15minutes for a decent sized cod and with my hart in my hand started to play the fish in.i thought something was wrong at first i felt so easy but the rod took all the hard work out of it.the rod felt brilliant and my worries about the rod tip was over and seeing the rod pull the codling up the rocks to my fishing ledge it was so solid.the imax 6 stroke 7 feels and handles great,i have used a greys nitra which i liked but this thing is in a diffrent class all of its own.great bite detection-casts well-feels and handles the ruff groung with no effort at all.anyone having thoughts about this rod then dont worry if your wasting your hard earned cash and beleive me i am out of work(due to ill health) this rod is worth every penny.solid powerful rod that wont lock-up on you in the ruff stuff .only thing now is that i have to save money to buy another onethese rods were also tested by henry gilbey and i was told he helped design the rod.well done imax a great great rod 10 out of ten.please feel frr to email me for any more info on the 6 stroke 7 on kevinmm0kss@btopenworld.com.thanks all, tight lines with all this lovely winter cod(totally catch and release) Added: November 18th 2005 Reviewer: kevin scott Score: 10 Related Link: imax 6 stroke 7 rod Hits: 2923 Language:
