Had to cut the weekend short due to work but travelled down on friday, visited the very good tackle shop in saundersfoot where I picked up a large selection of bait as I didnt know whether id be able to dig any decent lug.
Fished between wisemans bridge pub and the tunnel down near the rocks. Started at low tide with 2 rods, 1 3 hook flapper with lug, rag, macky and the other a 1 hook pulley with lug tipped with squid.
Within the first cast on the 3 hook flapper I was geting good knocks on the rod tip and a few minutes later I had a small schoolie bass around the half pound mark. Returned it back and re baited, this little fellow had gone for the lug.
For the next 2 hours I was geting bites regular and pulled in 7 bass all together with the biggest being around the 3 pound mark. I lost 1 fish on the surf as I was bringing it and this was probaly the biggest of the lot, it had given me a cracking bite and was pulling back out to sea as I was trying to get it in which makes me think it was a good size. I saw it flip over on the last wave befor loosing it and id put it at the 5 pound mark but hey I lost it so whats it matter!!
Weather was lovely and fished the whole tide up until an hour into the ebb but all action came at low tide and the next 2 hours. And ALL fish were taken on lug not a single thing on rag/ squid/ maky/ sandeel etc.
I dropped my dad off at my nans for a weeks holiday and im back down there this sat/ sun to pick him up so il be back fishing low tide sat am for 5 hours so again il report once im back. Anyones free to come down and say hello il be with my border collie dog and probaly my mrs befor she goes spending money at Tenby!!!!

p.s- ALL fish were returned safe and well happy

Nice report big grin
Is the guy at the tackle shop still the one from whitby? If so he is a top bloke. He was supposed to be buying a boat last year, but didn`t know if the mooring was included, the harbour master was giving him grief!!
Good result from wisemans bridge, stayed at a campsite nr there at stepaside a few years running.(10 mins walk!) big grin

Going to stay nr newgale for a week in august, good bass beach!
Next year July/august staying at kilgetty for 2 weeks, you`ll have to come down, can put you up if necessary, hopefully if rabbi2 joins our camping club he`ll be there too!
Cheers, let me know when you fancy a trip to chapel, norfolk or south wales, cheers Darren

Yea its the same guy from whitby, nice bloke. I will let you know mate about chapel but to be honest I only go up that way during the cod season,I have relatives in jeffreston just outside kilgetty which makes fishing all round that area real easy. I am however camping at wisemans with the mrs this wk end!!
