Clip on beads

hi all,

Does anyone know where i can get some beads that i can attach to the line of pre-made rigs etc without having to thread the line through the bead.

I saw in a copy of sea angler i think around 2006 a bead with a spiral groove around the outside and a normal hole through the bead so you could add them to pre made rigs.

when fishing, i am always tempted to clip a float rig on my main line with a small link swivel and let it slide down the line. So i am looking for something that i can attach to the line which will stop the link swivel sliding over the easy link at the end of my shock leader and getting tangled up with my exsiting rig.

Does this make sense confused

I have tried the tackle shops and online and nothing. I know i have seen them a few years ago, maybe they were not a big hit and discontinued.

I been thinking about your problem and the only thing that i can come up with is a spring made of light wire,
Soldering wire might help, you could shape it into a spring by rapping it around a grip lead wire and leave a leg sticking out at the top so that you will be able to bend it back over your spring after you have treaded it unto your line,

I hope this makes sense to you as I find it hard to tell you the mental picture I have in me head

Fishing two different rigs on one line sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, i hope that its not a 10lb bass that you lose while trying to get the float rig out of the way. Bottom gear on one rod and slid down float on another is the way to go.

Point taken, and that was just for an example. Being new to the forum when i posted that i seem to have made it sound more complicated.

I use an easy link on the end of my leader like every body else and was after something that i could clip on to the line if i wanted to use a sliding float rig or send out a live bait without having to undo the easy link put a bead on and re-tie it. I would of course remove any end rigs first and clip the lead to the easy link.

Does that make more sense.

Think that all you need is a small bead above the lead link with a sliding stop knot (power gum is best but mono will do) each side to trap it in place. You can keep it tight to the link for bottom rigs and move it up the shock leader when you use the clip on float rig.Any decent sized fish will slide it back down so the weight won` be snagging on the way in. Hope this makes sense. sniggle.

Glad to be 0f help,

The tactic of putting a bait or float rig onto your main line while fishing 2 droppers on the bottom is well tried and tested at match’s when the fish are hard to find.

It covers more water as you will have one bait tight to the bottom and another just of the bottom then the one you add will either stop at the knot on the shock leader,

Or if using a float will be suspended looking for any fish that maybe chilling out in the higher level’s of water,

I just thought i would give it a go if things went a bit slack. Small hook for some bream or something. Once you know what's about and feeding then you can change your method to suit.

Thanks guys for the help, as i only got back in to the sport last year after a 15 year break there seems to be so much i need to catch up with.

I've been thinking (not usually a wise thing!) and i have some ideas . . .
look away now.....
1. Attatch a luminous night light to your rig. Others will advise how.
2. How about using luminous parcel/ sellotape just above the hook
3. Paint some coarse fishing shot and attach that.
4. Erm, thats it
