Fished the Bristol Channel, Saturday 15/01/05 from Layde Bay, Clevedon. high tide was at 10:26 AM, weather not too bad, caught six whiting, largest just over 2lb. Good venue

Hi mate i fished just up from Clevedon on low water Monday and only had two bites :cry: :cry: but i did have a small codling, big grin big grin must have been about a 1lb.

sounds like a good place to start, Layde Bay is rocks to sand isnt it?
also heard that you need 5oz leads to hold bottom, any truth in that or no, also how dangerous are the rocks, is it worth having a look during the day prior to fishing the night, also can you fish it at low tide as well as high. :?: :?: :?:

Yes you are right, it is rocks to sand, I usually use a 6oz, rocks can be very slippery, it is worth looking during the day. As for fishing at low tide you will need to climb down the rocks as it goes out quite away. good luckwith your fishing!
