rods are designed to bend but are they designed to bend one wat better than another
confused let me explain
i have a pair of diawa sand storms rigged up for multiplyers
its obvious which way the top section goes on because of the eyes but what about the bottom section as it has no eyes ?
i have always had f s reels so there was an eye on the bottom section now on these there isn't , i use it so i can see tha sandstorm writting on the side of the multiplyer but would i get more distance the other way round
i would take it on a field and try but there are none that are 300yrds long
they are always full of little kiddies
have you noticed any difference?
its just one of those thing i think of while cleaning my rods weird eh |

Rod blank makers use to recommend that you find the `spine' of the blank which was a ridge formed when the glass cloth was wound round the forming mandrel and whip rod rings on opposite side.
I would think that with modern fine carbon cloths it makes very little difference which way up it goes unless you`r tournament casting and every inch counts. |

A quiet sandy beach makes a better place for practice casting i think.
You can use a fixed spool with a multiplyer rod but the eyes are smaller and the line cant get thru the first eye as easy, espesially the leader knot. I think thats right anyway. |

| Yep your right and in some cases the line will twist around the first eye causing a snap off . |

| I use multiplier rods with a fixed spool reel, but I do use braid , it doesn't have that spiral whipping off effect. I can get out as far as a multiplier with that set up. My mate is a multiplier man and he can chuck my set up as far as his. Just make sure the spool, is fully loaded to cut resistance. I've tried mono but it don't work too well as you rightly say. I made a call to century when I bought my new rod and they said the same, carbon blanks are uniform and work either way. I hope so as I'm using mine upside down in reality !!! The bottom of most rods is pretty stiff anyway and as they explained to me the power comes from the centre area. |
