Our club, Colchester Sea Angling, fished the Orwell at Ipswich docks on Sunday and the fishing was patchy to say the least. Only 2 lads caught flounders and one got 3 and the other 2. Good quality fish taken on maddies although one took lug. All caught close in (near the side). Lots of small crabs but not hook strippers unless left a long time. The rest of us did not get a bite. Ahh the fickle hand of fishing. For anyone interested the result of the match was :
1st Billy Paquette with 3lb 4ozs
2nd Martin Close wth 2lb 10ozs |
