went and fished off the breakwater over the wall from the lobster smack pub this afternoon........... wasn't too bad, caught 3 small pouting and a bass of not too bad a size, which took me by surprise for this time of year! It was a nice afternoon, with good weather and peace and quiet...... SUMMER IS ON THE WAY |

I ended up at the lobster smack whilst driving around canvey the other day, where abouts did you fish kenny?
I parked in the car park and walked up the metal steps and down the other side and had a little look to the left for some peelers.
Having not fished there before I would be grateful for advice as to where would be good ( if you were standing at the top of the steps facing the sea, which way to go) with some light tackle....
cheers |

| The warmer weather is bringing the bass in earlier than normal all round the coasts. |

well twogun, I've always found this bit fishes best from low tide up if you park at the pub car park then go over the steps where the sea wall comes to a corner, then you will see a large break-water . If you walk along towards the end of this, you will notice on your right hand side that there is a narrow pathway through the mass of seaweed. wlak down to the bottom and fish there, carfully though as ive nearly busted an ankle a few times. ive found it best to cast either just in front into the gully which runs past, or over to the left into the main tide run once the tide picks up a bit....... hope this helps |
