Hello there! Could anybody advise me where would be a good place to do some fishing on Welsh Coast in late April. My brother and I are taking my young nephews(8,10) camping\fishing 25-28 April but havent a clue where to base ourselves for best access to good fishing areas. We'd like to be able to go off rocks and beach and stay quite near to the campsite. Could anyone tell me of an area where this might be possible? Any advise would be most appreciated! |

Treadur bay in Hollyhead (Anglesea). You wont be disapointed. Nice camp site there. Plenty of peaceful, beautiful beaches and you have all of Anglesea at your feet. Id also recomend fishing for flatys next to conwy bridge when the tide is coming in. Dont forget ya peelers Deganwy beach is also prety good. |

Cefan siden allso known as penbry has a beautifull beach with a lot of camping sites and stuff for bored kids to do fishes well for flatties and occasional schoolie bass in summer, it is national trust land so it should have a web site some where , and there is the motor raceing circuit literally next door to it ( pembry@barc.com) allso try VISIT WALES .COM should have several links to look at , M4 not far away so easy to find
hope that helps |

Cheers shorty. I'll check n see if theres a website for Penbry. sounds good. I wanna get it right as were coming from the Midlands and I dont want to spend the whole weekend driving up and down the coast looking for a good spot. Do you know is April a good time for sea fishing generally? what sort of species are about other than flatties? |

just go on google and type "PEMBRY COUNTRY PARK" and follow the links you need, its mostly flatties and schoolie bass but you could use pembry as a base and a word of WARNING dont listen to bassman as he BLANKS a LOT , enjoy beautifull WALES |

Pembrey country park has a brilliant caravan site but b=not sure about camping. Its run by the caravan club check their site.
Why not try the gower - brilliant campsites all over. Can even stay just 200 yds off the beach at Port Eynon
Fantastic part of a fantastic country!
