Anyone know what type of beach fishing merchandise will be for sale at the show. I recently went to the TACKLEMANIA show in Essex hoping to get some bits and pieces but it was aimed at freshwater and not salt water fishing so came away empty handed.
I am new and was hoping to pick up good rig making kit and check out beach rods and reels etc.. not having been to such a large show some help would be useful. |

Hello mate,
I went to the go fishing show at the nec last year and yes there are alot of stalls with sea gear there but beware and dont but the thing you are looking for from the first stall you see it on as they are all varying in price.
I got a multiplier for £100 and just round the corner on another stall it was going for £155.
I'll be there again next time.

Hi Raymondo,
Will the leading rod makers be there as well. I am interested in buying a 3 piece rod but would be good if I could compare several makes under the same roof?. |

There will be rod builders there mate but if you go for daiwa, shimano, abu etc they are all selling at the catalogue price so the best thing to do is have a feel of the rods and wait till you get home to buy one as you will pick them up loads cheaper from various shops and when i say loads i mean 100-200 cheaper depending on what your budget is.
If you are going for zzipplex, the make that i use have a look at tony's tackle as they build the rods and are of the highest quality. They are also at compepetive prices.
Anymore help needed, post again or send me an e-mail.

Hi Raymondo,
Hear what you are saying but was hoping that there would be dealers at the show who would be selling at OnLine prices. As for the Zziplex are the rods not ready to go from the manufacturer or does the dealer eg. Tony's need to do something to them first?. |

Hi Raymondo,
Bit confused. Phoned Zziplex who confirm that they only supply the blanks to dealers. The dealer in turn finishes off the rod eg. colour, whipping, rings etc..
This enables the buyer to have some control over the finished article. So I assume any dealer at the show -unless he has decided to finish off the rod before hand- will not be in a position to sell fully finished rods. |

Hi mate,
Zzipplex do only sell the blanks to rod builders and you can have them custom made to your preference if you so wish to do so, the rods that i have tested have already been built by the rod builders and were just what i wanted so that is why i purchaced them.
If you go online to Gerry's of morecambe he has a massive range of zzipplex rods all pre-built but if you want one making up for whatever reason he will do so.
The same thing goes with tony's tackle who i presume will be at the show this year. they have a number of rods pre-built for the show or the shop but if you want something different customising they will do it for you.
