Last year I tried spinning for Bass with floating plugs. In rocky areas I needed a landing net, but the treble hooks were tangling in the net, and making it difficult to release undersized schoolie Bass quickly enough.
I've been told you can clip some of the points off the two trebles on most plugs without any problems. Has anyone any experience of this or any advice?
Thanks. |

I used to do alot of pike fishing with spinners and plugs a few years ago, I used to flatten the barbs on the trebles with a pair of pliers to make them barbless to make it eassier to unhook fish, it also makes it eassier to get the hooks out of landing nets. |

Good point Trooper, I do this as standard when I'm fly fishing for trout and I still land the majority of fish that I hook, so maybe it's worth a shot. Thanks! |

Why not just switch to a single hook like I have done with some of my pirks. I dont think it will have a detremental effect on the fly or lure, or am I just a bit nieve? (Still learning) |
