Shimano do the best fixed spool reels. Thos eby Penn and Okuma sem to get decent reviews. Why not a multiplier though? They are far superior - IMO.

Lemax GY 9000, 230yds 30lb, 170yds of 40lb.. Solid construction left or right hand wind. But only 1 ball bearing. As you can see the line capacity is tremendous. Can't remember the price but it was cheap. keith in blackburn. |

Make sure you get one with a fairly deep skirt on the spool - my mate has a Penn and every so often his line gets trapped under the spool with the resulting non cast. Personally I use Okumas but don't get the cheap ones I also quite like some of the Diawas but don't have one yet. |

That's the one my mate uses and the line gets trapped under the spool. Wouldn't bother meself. |
